Barefoot path – a natural way to regain energy and inner calm

Discover how a barefoot walk over natural surfaces at Survilų sodyba helps restore energy, strengthen the body, and calm the mind.

Have you ever noticed how the feeling changes when you step onto grass barefoot? The first step is cautious – you place your foot thoughtfully, listen to the sounds, feel coolness or warmth. The second is bolder. The third already feels natural. And after a few minutes you realize that not only your feet, but your thoughts too, are beginning to rest.

This is where the magic of the Barefoot path begins. Not magic in the fairy-tale sense – but a simple, earthly therapy close to human nature.

What is the Barefoot path?

The Barefoot path at Survilų sodyba is one of the first in Lithuania. It is made of more than 10 different surfaces: sand, pebbles, cones, bark, pine cones, water, clay, wood, and more. Each surface has a different texture, so walking barefoot gives the feet a natural massage.

The path is not about speed, but about sensation. Each step is like a small signal to the nervous system that life is not only thoughts, but also feeling.

The science: what walking barefoot gives you

Barefoot paths have received more and more attention worldwide in recent years. Scientific studies show that regular barefoot walking (earthing or grounding) has many benefits.

Improves circulation. Firmer surfaces stimulate reflex points on the feet, activating blood flow and lymph flow.

Strengthens joints and muscles. When we walk barefoot, the body works differently than in shoes. Small muscles of the foot and calf are activated.

Relaxes the nervous system. Slow, mindful walking works much like meditation. Breathing slows, heart rhythm stabilizes.

Improves sleep quality. Contact with natural ground helps regulate circadian rhythm.

Encourages attentiveness and calm. Each surface asks for attention – a small mindfulness exercise for the whole family.

Benefits for children, families and companies

Children take the path as an adventure. Adults discover a long-forgotten feeling: to be free. Companies visiting Survilų sodyba often start the day with the Barefoot path.
